Massachusetts Licensed Massage Therapist MT-9878-MT
I believe the wisdom of movement and touch connects us to our greater selves. When we are truly relaxed and present in our bodies, we are more present in our day, in our lives and in the world.
Our world is in constant flux. We are constantly trying to adapt to changes in the rhythms of the world brought about by external and internal forces. Massage and movement awareness can help us get back in rhythm with ourselves and each other.
In 2011, I received my Massachusetts state Massage Therapy License. I completed 800 hours of massage therapy training at The Massage School, Acton, Massachusetts. I received massage training in Swedish massage, trigger point therapy and the fundamentals of Shiatsu, Thai and Reflexology.
My program consisted of:
-
200 hours of supervised clinical experience;
-
300 Hours of Massage Theory and Technique;
-
100 hours of Anatomy and Physiology including the structure and function;
-
60 Hours of Ethics and Professionalism and Communication;
-
50 Hours of advanced techniques in Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Reflexology;
-
45 Hours of Pathology; and
-
45 Hours of Kinesiology.
I hold an M.Ed. in Creative Arts in Learning from Lesley University. I have extensive experience working in health care, arts, education and community organizations. I am also a dancer and choreographer; I was priviledged to be a member of the Back Porch Dance Company. I have choreographed and performed my own works in Cambridge, Salem, Lowell and various public settings.
